Shared RG Configuration from CloudLabs

To make the life of a partner admin/instructor a little bit easier. CloudLabs can be used to deploy Shared Resource groups. If an ARM template is configured at the CloudLabs template level, CloudLabs will deploy it and associate the Created Shared RG with the ODL(On Demand Labs). The instructor can now delete the Shared RG from the CloudLabs Admin Portal, removing the hassle of deleting the Azure Resource group.

Configuring Shared RG Configuration from CloudLabs​

Here are the steps how to configure shared RG configuration from CloudLabs portal:-

  1. Click on the Users button corresponding to the ODL.

  2. Click on the Map Shared Lab.

  3. Choose the required Subscription from the drop-down box. Choose Yes under Automate resource group creation. Enter the appropriate name for the Resource Group under Name. Choose the required Region and click on OK.

  4. Once the lab is over and the ODL has expired, Navigate to Users page and Delete Shared Lab to delete the Shared Resource Group created at the beginning of the lab.

  5. Click on the below options to delete the Resource Group.

    a) Mark delete on CloudLabs: This option will mark the Resource Group as deleted from CloudLabs but not from Azure.

    b) Delete from Azure: This option will delete the Resource Group from Azure and mark the RG as deleted in CloudLabs as well.
